Congratulations to the Golden State Warriors, who defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers last night to win their first NBA championship in forty years! While league MVP Stephen Curry and series MVP Andre Iguodala were amazing to watch, it was the team’s synchronicity as a whole that made the series so engaging. Of course, a championship means nothing without worthy opponents, so the Cavs and LeBron James deserve plenty of credit. It’s a proud day for Oakland (already a highly underrated city to my eyes), Santa Cruz (after all, the 2015 NBA Development League champion Santa Cruz Warriors are their feeder team!), and the entire Bay Area.
